Much work is ongoing in The European Union by the F.A.C.E. team in Brussels. F.A.C.E. is the European Field Sport Federation, representing over seven million hunters across the E.U. Some of the issues being monitored at the moment in European are the serious implications of the Game Meat Regulations, the debate on the growing damage to fisheries by Cormorants across Europe and hunting over designated areas.
We extend our congratulations to Mr. Des Crofton of the NARGC on his election to the position as vice president of F.A.C.E. Europe. Mr.Oliver Russell is the current Chairman of F.A.C.E.(Irl).
The next F.A.C.E. International Hunting with Hounds meeting is being held in Paris at the end of June and Ireland will be represented by delegates from the Hunting Association of Ireland. Each country gives a report and the serious situation in the U.K. will obviously be the main issue for discussion.
F.I.S.S.T.A. and N.A.R.G.C. Petition for Guarantee of protection for traditional shooting rights and other issues.
Countryside Ireland is fully supporting this move and we will have petitions to sign at our stand during The National Country Fair.
