On Sunday 22nd September, several hundreds of thousand people will march in Central London, in order to demand that the U.K. Government respects the values and customs of rural communities. People should have the right to live their lives responsibly in the way they choose, including the right to hunt or practice another field sport discipline. As this message is important in an increasingly urbanised society (also elsewhere in Europe!), and because FACE believes in international solidarity, we hope that delegates and representatives from as many countries as possible will participate. President M. ANDRADE will soon send out a personal letter of support, encouraging FACE members to be at the Countryside March. It is however important to realise that this event is not organised by FACE and that we cannot assist you with practical arrangements, such as hotel bookings or other details. We can only provide you with the information we have received so far from our UK delegation and the Countryside Alliance. ***** The March is scheduled to start at 9.30hrs and continue well into the late afternoon. The March is some 5 kilometres long and, in order to accommodate the large numbers expected, follow two routes that will merge in Whitehall. The starting points will be the Queen Mother's Gate at Hyde Park and at Blackfriars Bridge on the Embankment (River Thames). For international guests, a special rendezvous is foreseen at Southwark Bridge at 11.00hrs. This is only a 2.5 kilometres walk from Waterloo Station (= the EUROSTAR Terminal), but you will probably need one hour from the train arrival time.
