REPUBLIC OF IRELAND & NORTHERN IRISH GROUPS MARCHING EN-MASSE FROM THE BAND STAND, HYDE PARK CORNER

We have had much interest from Supporters from The Republic of Ireland & Northern Ireland wishing to march with fellow countrymen on the Liberty & Livelihood March. To that end we have scheduled a meeting point and time which we hope will be convenient to you all.

1. Meeting Point

The Band Stand, Hyde Park, which is close to the Start of the route "Liberty" at Queen Elizabeth Gate. For further information please contact either Michael Ryan or Ashley Graham.

2. Tube Stations

  • Knightsbridge (Piccadilly Line)
  • Lancaster Gate & Marble Arch (Central Line)

3. 1100hrs Assembly Time..........1130hrs"March-Off"

Marchers should allow ample time to arrive at the Bandstand since, if the tube stations are congested, your choice of station may be temporarily closed and you will be directed to another one.

4. March Coordinators

Northern Ireland

Ashley Graham Tel: 028 9263 9911
Countryside Alliance Email: ashley@countryside-ni.org

Stewards will be at the Bandstand to welcome all our supporters and will coordinate your departure from there. They will offer support, help and advice and will be fully briefed.

5. Banners, Placards & National Flags

To increase the visual impact, we are hoping that as many people as possible will carry National flags, banners and placards stating their particular interest and area (country/region) from whence they have come. However, everyone will appreciate that offensive banners will not help our cause. When passing through Hyde Park, banners will have to be folded, and placards carried at your sides, in accordance with Royal Parks Regulations.

6. Musicians

If you plan for musicians to lead your group, you might like to know that we have arranged for our own musicians to be located in strategic positions along the route so your Band will be able to have periodic "breaks" from playing whilst passing the "static" musicians. We are also expecting all participants to remain silent when they walk down Whitehall.

7. Food & Beverages

The route from Hyde Park to Artillery Row, via Parliament Square, is approximately 2 miles. Though not far in distance, it is anticipated that the March will take between 2-4 hours due to the expected numbers of people marching. We therefore strongly recommend that you bring sandwiches, chocolate and non-alcoholic drinks to sustain you along the way.

8. Worldwide Beacons

Beacons will be re-kindled on Monday 16th September as a precursor to the March. This time, though, we will light up the world! If you would like to light a beacon to herald the March for Liberty & Livelihood, please gather local support, let us know where the flame of freedom will be, and start building.

We welcome the rest of the world to support "Liberty Beacons"! Information please (including interesting stories) to:
