PRESS RELEASE

From: David Wilkinson - Hunting Association of Ireland.

This years International Hunting with Hounds meeting took place in The Station House Hotel, Kilmessan, Co Meath recently. The conference takes place annually and is run under the direction of FACE Europe and was organised by The Hunting Association of Ireland under the chairmanship of Mr Oliver Russell.

The main topics for discussion included the UK government's Hunting Bill and it's likely consequences, along side a public that no longer wants an outright ban, also the corruption evident within some of the animal welfare groups around the world, particularly in France and the growing extremism of the animal rights agenda.

The delegates this year were from France, Belgium, UK, The USA and Ireland. All the associations affiliated to The Hunting Association of Ireland had representatives present and Ronan Gorman Executive director of CANI also attended representing Northern Ireland. Mr Des Crofton of The NARGC was invited as guest speaker in his new capacity of Vice President of FACE Europe.

Mr Russell closed the meeting by thanking the Hunt Clubs in Co Meath namely The Meath, The Fingall, The Tara and The Ward Union for their generous sponsorship and to FACE (Ireland) for funding the occasion. Next years meeting will be held in Belgium.
