If you need help because you believe that your computer may be infected with a virus, please get some professional help. The following is for guidance only.

Viruses can get onto your computer from a number of sources, but the most common is via e-mail. Please ensure that your anti-virus programme is enabled to check all of your e-mails. It is also vital that you ensure that your virus definitions are updated regularly, and we suggest that you do this at least once a week.

It is increasingly vital for computers to have anti-virus protection, and this is available from several companies, including:-

Anti Virus Sites: Web Site URL:
Norton Anti Virus http://www.symantec.com
McAfee Virus Scan http://www.mcafee.com/
Trend Micro HouseCall
(free on-line virus scan)
http://housecall.antivirus.com/
Dr Web Anti Virus http://drweb.im-shop.de/index_e.htm

If you don't have any virus protection, or you are worried that your anti-virus programme may have become disabled, perhaps by a virus, then the following is a useful free on-line virus scanner that may help your computer to get clean itself of viruses. Click on the image below and follow the instructions. (This programme can take 30 minutes or so to run, and you need to be on-line, but it works very well.)
